NHBC Regulation and Technical Changes to Wet Room Applications

As you will be aware, NHBC have made some regulation and technical changes to wet room applications. This is in relation to substrates for tiling bath and shower enclosures, wet rooms and bathroom pods.

The NHBC advise is that Gypsum based plaster and plasterboard or calcium sulphate screed should not be used as a substrate in a wet room or where a power shower is to be installed, regardless of any tanking provision.

Click here for details relating to this change including a table of what can be used in each application.

Within the presentation, there is a slide for James Hardie cement backer boards that can be used in this application as per the above table.

To support branch stock holding, James Hardie have introduced a new 4 pallet ability for branches to purchase in.
