Sun is shining on High Wycombe’s landscaping season

As one of our must-win categories for 2024, we rolled out our seasonal Landscaping offering earlier than normal this year.

It’s meant that we’ve been able to steal some ground on our competitors by making sure that our customers can see that we have everything they need at branch, with our Landscaping products on show at prime locations.

You already shared some brilliant pictures of your displays and at our High Wycombe branch, they have already started to reap the benefits, even pinching some new business from our local rivals.

And it’s been reflected on the bottom line as the branch has already grown Ex Yard Sales of Landscaping products by more than 100% vs. the same period last year which is simply a stunning start to the 2024 Landscaping Season.

Georgina Mildenhall is the BM at High Wycombe and said that being “Landscaping Ready” by early February this year has created more opportunities ahead of our local competition.

“Having our early focus on “Landscaping” this year is clearly paying dividends.  It’s helped drive the team on this important product group and coupled with the better pricing guidance and visibility it’s 100% making the difference.

“We’ve managed to target and win new professional Landscaping contractors from Travis Perkins and most enjoyingly, MKM in Thame.  We’ve done this by working closely with our suppliers, in particular, Tobermore.

” We’ve also focused on winning the whole Landscaping project and not just the paving”.  We want the sub-base & all the associated products”.

Georgina’s tips for her fellow BM’s centre on depth of stock and creating incentives for colleagues to go the extra mile and chase down business.

“Great things really can be achieved by working with suppliers & our colleagues in Category to maximise opportunities”

“When customers are starting any project whether it’s a landscaping project, an extension or a new build, it’s about starting the conversation early, talking through all their requirements to maximise our share of the project.”

Kris Winters, Regional Director for Bucks, Berks & West London said Georgina and her team are demonstrating a “winning mentality” both in the high levels of activity at High Wycombe, but also how they’ve raised the bar on how they present their landscaping stock in the yard.

“It’s brilliant to see how our team at High Wycombe ensured they were ‘Landscaping Ready’ from 1 February. Landscaping zones have clearly been defined and project quantity depths of stock are in place making us more credible to local professional landscaping contractors and no doubt contributing to the very strong start and growth in this year’s Landscaping season at High Wycombe.

“Well done Georgina and team!”
